AMERICA'S MOST FINEST

As we celebrate the 4th of July, it’s definitely a great and beautiful reminder of how far we’ve come as a nation and most importantly my journey as an immigrant and how far I’ve come as well as my growth.

I should say that indeed it’s a blessing to live and dwell in this beautiful land. Even though it does come with it’s own challenges and struggles, it’s what makes an American, be an American.

In life we choose to curve our paths into something beautiful and in the most imaginable ways that no one would understand other than ourselves. Yes, America the beautiful it is! The Land of opportunities…the land of dreamers, the land of the free and more that she has to offer. We belong and yes, we do belong to her.

I’ve loved and embraced her with my being as I work and pay back what I owe her.

All the joy, then comes sweat and blood that brings tears through hard work, we still embrace you by paying back what we owe you. America, I give you all unsparingly….I give you my heart and the very best that I can offer, then I let myself shine under it all. The land of milk and honey, they call her, but surely I don’t think it’s Canaan but it’s the modern day Canaan for her believers.

Yes with her ample opportunities, you can be whoever you want to be…because she’s America and you’re part of her. Mother America that embraces culture and diversity welcomes all. America the diverse that my style shines upon.

The freedom to express myself and nothing to fear, she offers. On this day, I forget that I am an immigrant…a black immigrant, so I embrace her. It’s one day that I feel I get to celebrate, and it’s a beautiful reminder of all the good that America still has to offer.

So I slip my feet into my red high heeled shoes and get to dance with America as I celebrate her birthday party. Salute America, thank you for letting me be me and part of your family. Giving me the freedom of showcasing my sense of style and love for fashion. Thank you, for I’m able to support my family and those in need.

DEAR AMERICA, I AM ABLE!

Even though others will still and may try to break this race of mine, I still continue to stand strong, tall and beautiful! You already know this that… ”black don’t crack”. This is the one day, that I forget about what race I am and the color of my skin. The one day that I get to be simply an American. Most importantly, I am a proud African American. So I kindly request you; dear America, to protect your people especially the marginalized.

STYLE IS BEING A GOOD AMERICAN!

Happy Independence Day!
