THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS (LBD)

Let’s talk about the power of a little black dress (L.B.D).

I believe this is one main essential piece that one should have in their closet. You can never go wrong with that number.

When looking for the ultimate LBD, always make sure that it doesn’t have too much going on with it especially if it’s the first one to venture into your closet….and especially if it’s the only one that you own.

It has to have simple clean lines. That piece is one that can last you a lifetime. It will pretty much last as long as you want depending on how you’re going to take care of it. Plain, simple and elegant…those three speak for it. Then it’s easy and fun to accessorize and it’ll go with pretty much everything. It tends to set the mood just right.

Consider this… the LBD is typically your immediate best friend because you’ll be able to dress it up and down. Glam it by adding a brooch, necklace, earrings, belt, handbag, and any color or style of shoes, jacket, scarf …just name it. The list is endless.

For example, in my closet, I might have ten to fifteen little black dresses. Why do I have so many, you might ask? This is because of the different cut, fabric and fitting. These are pieces I’ve owned for years, from vintage to modern. If I gained or lost weight, I still can have a piece that I can always turn to on those days that I feel like I have nothing to wear.

That’s when the LBD comes to rescue.

"A girl should be two things:

who and what she wants".

~Coco Chanel

If you can afford only one piece, I would suggest that you go for the style that’s more forgiving. A style that can fit loose and/with a belt.

Always strive to being you, choose you and what you feel like that works for you without others telling you how, and whom you should be. There's always the best version of you that's your cheerleader and always so proud of you. Always keep pushing forward and never look back. So today, I choose to be the best that myself has to offer.

"Next time you think of beautiful things,
don't forget to count yourself in".
~Coco Chanel

Always remember this, style is mood.
