This year has been quite challenging to say the least. Literally everything has slowed down, and the world of fashion has been affected in ways unimaginable.
Non-the less that doesn't mean that style lovers have to slow down with the changing world. In fact it's the other way around. It's been known that stars are born and reincarnated during tough times. Creative minds emerge from the sleepy dump. As the world goes to snooze, creative minds emerge from the slumber...this brilliant mind has risen and is ready to work.
With Covid19 settling in our homes rent free, and debilitating our wallets, we're not going to let it suck the life out of us. We're still here and I know it's been quite a challenge to many. When I started writing about Fashion and Style, this past February just a month before the pandemic and quarantine hit us hard, I had been super elated. I was going to go to all these beautiful places. I had started scouting... I love architecture. To me, it's Art... as is Fashion Design. These two go hand in hand. They both start with drafts and sketches, then the details follow before the entire project is executed.
So yes, I was going to implement different architectural sites ... the old and the new matched perfectly with my vintage and modern styles. I had plans to travel to wherever my little fashion project may take me. Little did I know that most of the writing and photos were going to be executed from home. I love the beauty of outdoor nature.
As Seasons change, it changes the landscape as well. Earth moves with it. Look up in the sky and you'll know exactly what I mean.
I said this to myself... my dream was to write and share about my sense of style, and yes I can still do it at home until we're safe to go out and about freely. Remember this...life worth living begins at home.
This past Summer I showcased different styles on My Social Media Platforms - both Instagram and Facebook. I'll share the links below. I do have a daily dose of style on both platforms. This has given me the drive to continue doing what I love to do while remaining hopeful that things will eventually return to normal.
THE CHANGING WORLD OF STYLE
This year is almost over. I miss being normal...the old normal where little store escapades mattered. Now I pretty much shop online 100 percent. I miss experiencing that touch, feel, smell of new materials and textures while shopping. I am very careful that when I shop online I venture towards stores where I'm not going to pay for shipping charges.
Yes I miss that personal concierge service that big brand stores provide.I don't take anything for granted. It's 2020 and I'm glad I'm one of those people that are spontaneous, and love being so. I don't make any New Year's resolutions because I don't plan to fail. Yes I have goals and dreams ...and they are achieved with spontaneity.
My love for being spontaneous energizes me as I continue showcasing my sense of style. I am one of those who is self taught, combined with a great deal of patience.
I have become my very own personal stylist, photographer, editor, content creator, makeup artist, hairstylist, video and graphics creator and editor. I am a Fashion and Style blogger and 2020 has taught me how to be even more self sufficient...all this while working self employed in Health Care. To top things off, I decided to take a class at Yale University while in quarantine. Yes...you can do it all from home.
2020 has been a year of possibilities amidst the tears of sorrow. I can't wait to see what 2021 holds for me. I can't wait to add another dollar to my twenty dollar bill.
